The Stetson and the Soulskin is an intimate work of mythopoetic nonfiction that weaves a woman's wisdom, environmental consciousness, memoir, and the ancestral Selkie myth into a new feminine map for belonging in a fractured world. Drawing on nearly thirty years as a U.S. Park Ranger, the author brings her rare insider authority of land stewardship to reflect on humanity and the systems that have shaped both wilderness management and women’s lives. The book traces a woman’s journey from longing to tending, revealing how devotion to land, creativity, community and motherhood led to reclaiming her soulskin.*
